The Dutch company Rhizopon is a manufacturer of growth regulators for rooting cuttings. This is their only line of business. And thanks to this, the company occupies a unique place in the world as a manufacturer of excellent rooting technologies.
As a leading specialist in its field, Rhizopon has perfected the production process to guarantee the high class of its products.

One of the components of the Rhizopon rooting agent is the active substance

  • 3-Indolylbuterazur (3-MBA) Indole-3-butyric acid (1H-indole-3-butanoic acid, MBA)
  • 1-naphthylazijnzuur (1-Нах) 1-naphthylacetic acid (NAA)
  • These different end products are supplied in different preparations

It is produced in different concentrations. Accordingly, for different types of cuttings and the complexity of their rooting, you can choose your own finished product. Rhizopon rooting agent is available in two formulations. This is a tablet form (water-soluble) and powder. Water-soluble tablets contain plant substances for rooting. Dry tablets, if properly stored in the original packaging and in a cool place, are fully active for many years. It is advisable to dissolve the tablets in a plastic or glass container, at the rate of 4 tablets per 1 liter of water. The solution must be stirred for about a minute until the tablet is completely dissolved. In this case, some insoluble particles may remain, which do not affect the rooting process in any way, since the active ingredients are completely dissolved. To get the maximum effect, the solution should be used immediately after preparation. Cuttings are rooted both by total or partial immersion in the solution, and by spraying already planted plants. To enhance the effect, you can use these two methods at once. First, dip the bases of the cuttings into the rooting solution, and then apply the Rhizopona solution to the leaves after transplanting into the substrate. Spray until the first drops flow down.

The soaking method is used throughout the growing season for rooting deciduous and bare cuttings, as well as coniferous cuttings. This method is also used in winter for dormant cuttings. The container should not be very deep and wide, so that all the cuttings are at the same depth in the phytohormone solution. The rooting solution should cover the basal ends of the cuttings from 2 to 5 cm. The cuttings are soaked in Rhizopone for 12 to 48 hours. Deciduous cuttings and shoots are kept in the solution for about 12 hours. Coniferous and winter cuttings - about 24 hours. And hard-to-root cuttings and grape cuttings are soaked for 48 hours. During the soaking process, the cuttings slowly absorb the Rhizopon rooting agent. The time for the root system to form will vary depending on the type of plant. Leafy plants propagated in a greenhouse will begin to form roots soon after planting. In winter cuttings of woody species, root formation will begin after transplanting into the soil. Bare winter cuttings do not need lighting, while deciduous and coniferous species do need light. A very simple and convenient method for large and small production batches. At the same time - minimal labor costs and basic skills. At the same time, pathogenic microbes do not form on the plants, since the soaking in the solution is minimal, while in other rooting agents the plants are immersed for an average of 4 hours, which can cause the process of decay. The powdering method is very popular. For this, the powder form of Rhizopona is used. Dry cutting tips are immersed in a rooting agent by 5 cm, then excess powder is shaken off the cutting, and the already powdered plant is transferred to the substrate. Here it is necessary to remember that the powder has different concentrations. The more difficult it is to root the plant, the higher the percentage of the active substance.
